I agree, five hundred percent. Why'd you only post one side of it? ;)

The CircCam contrast makes that one "pop", for sure. Think of how flat (literally!) that piece would look without it!

ROFL at the CAC bean on an AG03 coin. :hilarious:

I would ask, "Why?", to which you could then rightfully respond, "Why not?"

And PCGS, NGC, and CAC could say, "Thanks for your money".

@Tyler Graton - this one is hideous, hilarious, and cool, all at the same time.

It's "so bad it's good". LOL

One of the very coolest circcams I own I bought from LordM himself a few years ago, an 1849 SL dime - I hid it in an SDB though so no images yet.

I look forward to seeing that again, and wonder if a photo of it will jog my memory.

...I inherited about 25 Morgan/Peace dollars, many are AU. This is the most worn of the bunch but about half have these tape strip marks, some with the tape still on. Several of the AU's have a layer of gunk that looks like PVC.

I took it to the dealer and they recommended taking Koinsolv to the whole lot of them with a Q-Tip before it gets any worse but I haven't gotten around to deciding what to do with them yet. I hate to even mess with them at all but I guess the alternative may be worse.

I'm not an expert, but considering acetone is inert with metal, I'd try that first on your Morgans.

I tried acetone on one and it took off the tape just fine... not sure how it works on PVC but I'll research more before I do anything to the rest.

Thanks to @coinsareus10 and @ksparrow for pointing out that this is one. I've always liked coins that had this look but didn't know there was a name for it. :)

The acetone should work on the PVC residue also.
