I don’t usually buy damaged coins, but the old scratch on the reverse doesn’t bother me for some some reason. Maybe because it’s completely toned over. Especially at the price I won her for. Love the obverse.

For some reason I have never posted here. Maybe because I don't believe I have much that qualifies. These 3 might.

    Demetrius I - 162-150 BC - Antioch - 33mm, 16.1g., Rx Tyche seated l SMA 98.jpg
DEMETRIOS I SOTER AR silver tetradrachm. Antioch, struck circa 156-155 BC. Diademed head right. Reverse - ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ, ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ repeated in outer right field due to an overstrike, (a previous type with different font, rather than a double strike). Tyche seated left on throne supported by Nike; two monograms in outer left field, HP monogram in exergue. SMA 98. Big 33 mm due to being overstruck, 16.1g

The relief on the bust is massively high, making it 3D. I love the Seleucid tetradrachms!

Since the mint is producing "reverse cameo" strikes, shouldn't we acknowledge "reverse CircCam" coins?

    My entry for the category.

I'll acknowledge coins like yours happily, but I'm still digging in my heels on "reverse proofs". Ick.

It’s yucky, but it kind of IS a CircCam!

Sometimes the line dividing “CircCam” from “environmental damage” is a narrow one, particularly on copper, bronze, and cupronickel coins.

The Indian cent I posted in the OP is an example of that. Technically it was an environmentally damaged coin (microporous), but I thought it looked cool, with that black-and-brown CircCam contrast. Its surfaces actually weren’t so bad.

Def nice look bradgator2. The die line from the ribbon jumped out at me, makes for easy Overton ID.
Common marriage but kind of neat.

The Jeff above is well circulated. The surfaces aren't in nearly the condition of your Indian. They are just heavily toned. There is plenty of luster under the funky colors.

Agreed. That one is about as perfect a CircCam as they come. Bust coins, like Barbers, do often offer some nice G-VG CircCam examples.
