Beautiful! That would be my number 1 coin in my collection.

    Thanks! I had high hopes.

The seller photos (below) looked solid, but in-hand the surfaces have a lot more life to them than I was expecting. The obverse color is more glistening as opposed to the "burnt on" looking target toning circulated coins have sometimes if that makes sense.

That's excellent. To me, that coin is as aesthetically pleasing as a Mint State example would be.

Got this today at a local pawn shop. The CircCam, tho not perfect, is what sold me. Well that, the details and the price. 20180719_163402.jpg 20180719_163502.jpg

They just don't make 'em like they used to. That quarter has a lot of character. I could see Abe Lincoln handling it, or Wild Bill Hickok. I wish these old coins could tell their stories of their travels. I don't care how much you paid, you got a good deal.

Thanks, I was thinking about a civil war soldier may have had it in his pocket. Thinking of doing all the 1853 coins.

It's not really a CircCam, but it's relatively "crusty" (i.e., grey toned). You've gotta have that "cameo" contrast for a true CircCam.

I love those Arrows & Rays quarters and halves.
