What happened with the "Name the Software" contest.

If you want me to admit that I didn't force newcomers to say in affect my name is so and so and I'm number such and such you are correct I deviated from the structure of my own contest!! That said I have always given out the prize I've presented in the beginning of the contest!! See here's one here!

Following your contest rules, you declared a winner before the correct number of eligible contestants could post up to the correct number of posts a winner was pre-determined to be the winner. You have no idea who nor how many people may have been waiting for that chance to post according to the contest rules and structure. According to the mess that contest thread became with all the joking, over application of smiley icons and general nonsense that abounds on that forum, structure is what you lost control of and insomuch, you lost track of who was following the rules and how many posts you were up to for a winner. You never reached that goal before declaring a winner. So you broke your own contest rules.

I never accused you of not delivering on the prize, just in following the rules of the contest you devised to determine a winner. Not sure how you got on this tangent at all.

Well, I feel like it involves me because I was the one who started this darn thread. You know, there has been an occasion or two when I have gotten off to a bad start with one of the others here, but we have been able to look beyond that and move on. I think you guys should do the same. Holding a grudge will just give you ulcers.

Chris, I assure you that my comments and examples of Fret's contradictory statement above are not a grudge I hold against him.

I can also assure you, that had you been proactive about the matter and directed your inquiry to gbroke as I suggested to you earlier, in this, your thread, by recommending you post IN gbroke's contest thread in the first place regarding your inquiry, by Private Messaging gbroke first or by leaving him a visitor message on his profile page you would have avoided this entire thread that now annoys you.

I suggested a few days ago that you guys ought to PM him and you didn't. I stood up for the guy while you and others alike complained, whined and defame the guy and his contest. That's pathetic! ...as was Fret's contradictory statement about running a contest and being honest when he himself was recently, blatantly, in error of his own contest rules! Sheesh! It's not a grudge.

You know why gbroke commented here today? I PM'ed him and he responded promptly to address your inquiry. You all owe him an apology. And you all need to learn to be more proactive in your inquiries. I help fret on a weekly basis find information about this or that coin, token, etc. that he posts here... information that he could EASILY have dug up himself had he taken the time to Goolge rather than start a new thread! I hold no grudge against fretboard, let it be known.

 

I had to laugh when I 1st read this. My old boss liked the phrase~

Now I'm off to watch the World Equestrian Games begin.
