XF40, unfortunately it has some scratches and someone tried to clean some dark toning off.

The open areas are just too shiny, with scratches. I think it's been abrasively cleaned. Spend some time looking at coins and you will learn to know what natural surfaces look like.

The luster in the crevices means at least a grade of XF IMO.

I'll let others add or disagree.

Oh, and welcome to CT! I'm sorry if your coin was not what you expected. It is a little better date.

It's a medium grade coin but it's been cleaned so not worth a lot.

Welcome to CT! This coin is cleaned, but even if it wasn't it would only be around XF or AU, which would bring back around $20 on eBay if you want to sell it. It is not worth sending to grade. If you have any other doubts, feel free to ask on CoinTalk!

Yes, definitely cleaned, just look around the stars if you don't see it elsewhere. Better luck next time! ;)

EF sharpness but cleaned. It has hairline scratches, and the fields are brighter that the protected areas between the lettering.
