coins, thanks to dad, books because I read them and enjoy them, precode crime comics, old credit cards.
Great thread! I collect coins and commemorative Coke bottles. I am also a car nut, and I particularly like the turbo Chrysler products of the 80s and early 90s--I can think of several models I would like to have!! lol!! I am fortunate enough to have 2 now and a very long wish list. I also have a large stamp collection from when I was a kid. I really enjoyed stamp collecting, but the USPS went nuts with so many issues, I couldn't keep up and couldn't afford to keep up. I miss stamp collecting!!
I'm trying to collect less! I like Transportation Coil Stamps (PNCs), Priority/Express Stamps and Duck Stamps.
Guns are my passion! Coin collecting is my secondary hobby. I'm into most all of the spectator sports as well. I'm an armchair quarterback. LOL I also read and collect safari hunting books and magazines.
I used to collect rocks and minerals when I was a little boy living in the U.S. Unfortunately, its not as popular a hobby in Britain as it is in North America, and there aren't that many places that sell them apart from the occasional gift shop (which don't sell anything like the impressive specimens that could be bought in America for even lower prices almost everywhere), so I gave up, and started collecting coins instead...
I collect certain kinds of art glass, 20th century. I play a ton of guitar. Love the Lincoln plaques; I've wanted to pick up some large stuff like that.
I have collected Lionel Trains and beer mugs. I used to have four 4' x 8' pieces of heavy plywood as my base for my layout. My Dad bought me my first train set when I was three months old. I added to it until I was in my late twenty's early thirty's. I'm now 68 and counting. I had about 60+ of the beer mugs. I auctioned them off last year but did save 10 of my favorites. It helped pay for some of my more recent coin purchases, one being my avatar.
