    Remember several wrote that your coin is corroded. Olive oil and acetone will not remove corrosion. NOTHING will save this coin and make it presentable unless the corrosion is "tooled" off and the surface is repaired after the coin is "striped." Then, after it is recolored you will have a better looking "altered" coin that is still not worth much. For that reason, this is a coin that is not worth the time to conserve; yet, it is a perfect teaching piece that cannot be ruined much further.

    PS It is best to save your money and look over coins you buy very carefully. Avoid coins with corrosion, scratched, rim damage, etc. Perhaps you could have found a coin with less details (lower grade) and no problems. Have fun!

    Just for fun you could try some penetrating oil or WD-40 to see if it would loosen up the "corrosion".
