Interesting coin... Has underlying luster on the obverse, but deeeeeeply toned/dirty. I think AU50, but idk. What are your thoughts?

Am I missing something from the picture? I see 5 C, not 50 C on the reverse? I am usually wrong, just asking!

    It's a half dime.

Wow! I must still be asleep! A 1/2 dime did not even register. All I was thinking was previous postings with fake coins that posters were trying to trick reviewers.

When I first saw it I thought XF-45, but blowing it up I think AU. It has some nice clashing on it.

Comparing over on rob.com looks like V-6 or LM-5

This appears to be a Small 5 C on the reverse as opposed to Large 5 C.
Is this coin a candidate for acetone, and I wonder what the after pics would look like. I think AU 50 might be right, but perhaps higher after the bath.
Nice coin. I always like your photo posts and choice of coins.

    I believe it's better than AU50.

    More a 55.

I would definitely be weary of giving that a bath.

I agree with Frank. The surfaces are porous. Sure it's not cast?

    It's genuine, no doubt.

I dont think it is cast. Unless the forgers are adding die clashes now. This coin appears heavily clashed, which is common on half dimes. I like +1

I LOVE the coin, but I love capped bust coinage in general...

I agree with your assessment of the grade. As for cleaning, risky.
