There is a basic difference between the way some of use think of our coins and others. For the most part, I stopped collecting US coins in about 1963. When they took away the silver, I stopped even saving a coin each year. I have never considered selling the coins I had so 90% of them have been with me for 50+ years. Some get looked at every few years but I am sure some have been forgotten. I don't consider coins commodities for buying and selling and have no idea how much a quarter I pulled for circulation might be worth today. I realize that the silver makes them sell above 25 cents but that is not what makes me like them. I remember being a happy kid when I found a nice coin and I'd still rather have the thing than the 25 cents or $25 or whatever it represents today. How about you? Do you love your coins for what they are or for what they are worth?
