I have numismatic ADD... I collect everything and anything that catches my eye and fits my budget. I have coins from all over, old and new... tokens from the Civil War, tokens from municipal busses, and tokens from Chuckie Cheeze. I have currency as well as arcade tokens from the 70s and 80s. The only 'set' I have ever completed is the ASE UNC set. I found that so fulfilling, I am working hard on a Jefferson nickel set now, since silver prices are up. I also find myself collecting stamps now too. My father was into stamps, and he passed, I ended up with his collection. Stamps have gone from 'hot' to 'not' over the last decade or so, therefore his collection is more valuable to me than it is in dollars. So, now I collect stamps. That simple.
I collect Kennedies mainly but have been looking alot at mercs lately and decided I'll start an AU/MS set with the keys in AG, and a G-VF set with no keys for Bullion. On the back burner I have a 7070 set.As you can see there is alot on my plate!
For coins I am currently working on an 1858 business strike set (no gold) and an 1893 proof set (no gold). My primary Love is/are toned business strike Franklin halves. I own all 35 date/mm, but I'd like to upgrade (either technically, toning wise or both) about 6ish coins. Here's a link to my Registry set: http://coins.www.collectors-society.com/registry/coins/SetGallery.aspx?PeopleSetID=8611 I also collect space memorabilia from the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo (MGA) era, and am trying to put together a "set" of at least one "flown" item from each flight of the MGA era. There are 27 flights in total (6, 10 and 11 respectively), and at this point in time I own flown objects from 21 flights (4, 7 and 10 respectively).
It's on my list - my long, long list. This isn't a great example but I got it below spot.($25 yesterday)
