Does anyone know what type of coin this is and where it is from?

It looks like a bronze medallion or medal to me rather than a coin. I am no expert but I have seen a lot of medals produced by France. Also the -ado ending on one of the words might indicate Spanish/Portuguese/Italian origin.

I could read the date 1817 or nearly so. But definitely it seems from the nineteenth century. Member Kol said it could be from Spain , Portug... etc.. But it also could be from Latin America.

I think I read Espana on the bottom reverse, so my guess would be a medal for Spain, if not struck there.
