For my family and me to be healthy enough to keep on enjoying CT. PS, a surprise note would be nice ! I think I already bought it though !
My new computer arrived via FedEx last night so I guess my Christmas present is the high resolution wireless scanner to catalog my collection with. Boy, are you guys in for a barrage of pictures now. :thumb:
dear santa, i would like to find an 1877 indian head cent in fine or better underneath my tree. also, if you could put a 1909-s i.h.c. in fine or better beside it, that would be appreciated. sincerely, the good boy
I also got my Christmas gift to myself today. The "Charest book of Canadian coins and their varieties". 7th edition 2010. This is a big book! Lots of fun in this sucker.
I recently threw down the cash and bought one off of Ebay as a Xmas present to myself. Calling it a Xmas present is the best way I know to justify spending $800+ on a penny. I'm also using it as my avatar pic now so I guess I can use 'needing a new avatar' as justification as well. Btw, I agree with you that those five grading services are the Top 5 out there as far as grading consistency go. When it comes to buying slabbed coins I feel pretty safe with any of those five listed. Of course, the old adage always applies; buy the coin not the holder. But when you're buying coins online sometimes that is easier said than applied.
Actually, I already got my gift. My wife had surgery in July to remove a baseball size abcess from her back due to a MRSA infection. It left a 4X3X2 hole in her back which had to heal from the inside out. She was facing plastic surgery to complete the healing around Christmas. She went to the surgeon Friday and he gave her a clean bill of health. I ask my family not to buy me coins. I make enought mistakes buying them for myself. I simply ask for a Barnes and Nobel gift card and use it to buy my books. Last year bought the expensive 1801-1900 World Coin book by Krause. This year 1701-1800. Merry Christmas all.
