Here is my latest CoinStar find, and I have some questions about it? First, what happened to it? Why would someone make such a coin? If I put it on Etsy, what type of error should I ascribe to it LOL? Use your creativity and give me a title that'll make it worth $1,000.
"Superb parking lot find! Truly unique! Run over multiple times by a big, scary dump truck with 8 wheels!” It may also have been held on grinder for a while. It’s definitely post mint damage.
For Etsy, "Missing design elements." For reality, I don't think it is a parking lot casualty because the grinding is too even. Parking lot coins have lots of nicks and gouges. It was possibly intentionally worn down on a grinder, as mentioned above, or possibly, intentionally or not, was some kind of spacer under or between heavy objects or equipment. I don't know the internal workings of a CoinStar counter, but it is possible it got stuck there in some turntable for a while before being kicked out.
What's the weight Mike? that will tell you if it was a grinder or not. Ps the coin didn't leave the mint looking that way.
Nah, you're all wrong! That's a real coin in the correct condition as minted by the U.S. Mint...it's titled the "Non-Stewardship" quarter, which didn't do well initially, so they tried to recall them but obviously this one escaped...congrats!!
