I'm behind you on the continents: In order: North America (er, born there), Australia (honeymoon in 1991, business trip in 2002) South America (Brazil, twice in 2000, and during the North American winter-- bonus!), Europe (UK 2001, not yet the Continent), and Asia (Singapore, 2002, with Melbourne-- in a week total). My final state was New Mexico... nothing against it, but I couldn't gerrymander a business trip. I wound up driving over from Dallas. Fly into Minneapolis and you can finish your State Tally quest in a day or so... Pretty impressive that you have Antarctica though!
gardening, making wine, computer stuff, hanging out with grandpa and learning. Also geocaching, which can include designing and making your own coins to hide for others to find. Your coin can have a specific mission (to go certain places or to be by horses etc.) and the people who move it around usually take pics of them with the coin. I once had a coin that was in australia, sweden, germany and US and there was a pic of a guy on a mountain top with it and a helicopter in the background!
Besides coin collecting, I am into History (WWII, American and Medieval), Astronomy, bodybuilding, guns, I just got into metal detecting, and rock collecting and tumbling (which I do with my daughter and son).
My other hobbies are quite different from collecting coins: - Guitar (electric) - Fixed gear/track bikes (visit http://www.fixedgeargallery.com for more info) - Tattoos (more of an addiction, currently getting work done with the amazing Josh Ford - http://www.lifetimeofsol.com/josh.htm) - Hardcore music and going to hardcore shows (I'll let Wikipedia explain this one - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardcore_music) And the tattoo website...pretty ugly IMO...I'm actually redesigning and redeveloping their site for trade. Pretty good deal since my web services are worth *maybe* $90 an hour while Mr. Ford charges $150 an hour! Also, used to be into collecting gem and minerals, but those days are pretty much over (too fragile, and hard to keep organized in one spot).
Let's see.... I suppose you could say Paper Money, Golf, Chess, Frisbee Collection, Scuba, photography both above and below water....... Oh and did I say Paper Money?? RickieB
Besides coins and other money. I collect Chicago Cubs baseball autographs, my favorite player being ryan theriot who I just recently received an autograph from when I sent him a card to sign! monkeyman
North America (like you, born there; as far north as Fairbanks, Alaska[1963]; as far south as Panama[1981,1994]) Europe (UK, Germany[1947], Austria, Switzerland, Spain[2005?], Italy, Liechtenstein, all non-business) South America (2008-Argentina) Australia/New Zealand (1994-25th anniversary) Asia (Japan[1965]), but not on the mainland. Antarctica (twice), 1968/69 McMurdo & Pole Station working for the US Weather Bureau; 2008 Palmer Peninsula so my wife could get #7 (same trip as Argentina) And, yeh, I was thinking that's the best way to complete the US. Wife goes to France in Sept so maybe I'll give it a shot then.
Wow, some interesting hobbies here. As far as collecting things, coins only, thanks! I don't even buy albums anymore (expect me to call them cd's? not a chance!), as I aquire most of my music pseudo-legally. I do play music a bit. Used to play bassoon, but since stopped. Still jam out with the local bluegrass boys on my jaw harp and tin whistle, though. And, as any self-respecting young American male, I play video games. Halo in particular! My xbox live ID, if anyone else plays, is Ardatirion as well.
I suppose my other main hobby is traveling (and I have collected mineral specimens and traditional masks). I have been to all continents except Antarctica, several times each. Have visited about 100 countries, lived in six. As for States of the US, I've only been to half of them, lived in five.
