What are some currencies with weird names

    Have always found that to be an odd design. If you make coins with holes, they should be designed with the hole in mind, not with a hole in the head. ;) The word "kip", by the way, is Dutch and means chicken, hehe.

    I am back to this thread again. :)

    I’ve always been amused with Denmark’s 19th Century currencies of Rigsbankskilling, Rigsbankdaler, and the later Skilling Rigsmont and Rigsdaler. Sometimes they are difficult to fit on the 2x2 label. :D

    Your post made me think of this Greenland coin. :)

    This Greenland coin was first put into circulation without the hole. It was subsequently withdrawn from circulation & holed. Obviously, the design wasn't originally chosen to have a hole in the middle.
