Well... No date. No country. Denomination of 5 Pesetas. Weight of 15.6 grams. Diameter of 34mm. What am I?
The second picture is upside down. LL and a D... The Double L is pronounced like the letter Y as in Yellow or Yes.
My first guess was Spain...but nothing in my Krause matches the "5 pesetas" design. I'm just curious if it's a "5 Pesetas (good for one) Llama named Danielo" token.
Yes.. Una Ficha de Casino. I found a webpage with the true other side.. well close to it! http://www.imperio-numismatico.com/t44304-5-pesetas-ficha-de-casino
@stldanceartist OK so this is what I learned reading other Spanish websites There was a Casino in the town of Cieza in Spain and these were the tokens that were used there called fichas Here is another webpage - http://www.todocoleccion.net/5-ptas-casino-cieza-ficha~x29582485
This is the 1 Peseta Version - I want to share these images and webpage with you - http://www.todocoleccion.net/una-peseta-casino-cieza-ficha~x29582184
@paddyman98 You are practically unique on CT. 4053 posts and 4001 likes! I'm just a small part of your fan club.
Great site and resource. @GDJMSP can this be added to the numismatic resources section? These casino pieces can be notoriously difficult to research.
Thank you for pointing that out. It was baffling me. Upside-down, the "LL" characters looked like a weird Pi symbol or something. I disagree with you on the "D", though. I think its a "LL" and a "J".
