    Hello Guys !
Here a new one in my hands :)

Macedonia, Philip II (382-336), Tetradrachm, Pella mint circa 342-336 BC.
Obverse : Zeus laureate head right.
Reverse : ΦIΛIΠ-ΠOY, youth on horseback right, crowning horse with palm; horizontal thunderbolt below, N in exergue.
    14,36 gramms - 24mm.
    Stunning patina !

What do you think ? :)[IMG][IMG][IMG]

That's a stunning Philip Tet! The crystallization and rainbow colors make it unique.

Gorgeous Tet @Thierry Pruvost ! I agree with @Bing , the crystallization really sets off the coin, creating a very unique character.

I am a big fan of Philip II. His reign took a failed Kingdom to become a World Power. It was well financed, well trained military, revolutionary organization of Infantry as well as Cavalry, and a national style government. He was cut down before he could implement his master plan of conquering Persia. He paved the way for his young son to go on to execute Philip's Plans and resources, and become famous in his father's stead. I have several of his bronzes and silvers as well as my Tet:

It is gorgeous! Not everyone likes that crystalized or reticulated surface appearance but I find it mesmerizing :).

Here's a similarly toned and crazed tet:

The cracked(?) metal makes it look like Philip has some wrinkles! Love the toning too!

Aussi d'où venez-vous en France? J'étais né à Offemont dans le nord-est de la France.
