What’s going on with the surface of this coin?

    It’s an 1847 Victoria crown, graded MS63 by PCGS and very rare in this grade. But the surface, especially on the obverse, makes me wonder. Mike

    Its actually rather nice, but I was disappointed that it is NOT an 1847. (Gothic crown)
