This Morgan is the nicest of the lot with a beautifully executed punch. The die was cut by Ron Landis of GMM in Eureka Springs, AK so you would expect a professional look from him. The club started issuing counterstamped coins (on various denominations) to new members, at shows, etc. starting about 1940. Brunk and Rulau both list these pieces in their books. The last picture is a die trial struck on a zinc slug. What&#039;s interesting to me about this one is the word &quot;California&quot; struck on the edge. This club is based in Cleveland, so I don&#039;t know the meaning of &quot;California&quot;. It may have been struck over another test piece with no connection to WRNC. I plan on asking the seller to give me some history about it. I think it was from the early 40&#039;s, but I&#039;m not sure about that.
