Hey there, been a few, wanted to get your opinion on a possible cud or error on the coin below. Error is on the "I" in pluribus and makes it look like a capitol T. Just wondering about how significant it might be. Thanks so much in advance!
Ok thanks looked liked the "I" had a stamp to make it look like "T". looks that way at every angle I try to zoom so thought it might be significant.
Sorry to bother so just wanted to make sure I was specific enough. Do you mean that what is on the "I" is nothing, or you didn't see what I was referring to? Thanks so much.
I see it . Only thing I can figure is the Planchet took a hit , either just prior to being struck or just after . anyway, no added value . Actually considered PMD . Post mint damage . Just no other way to explain it .JMO
You'd be better off in some unsearched wheat penny lot. Found a couple on a ebay auction with some other error stuff. I was just lucky, sometimes it isn't worth it. Just a few examples of what errors can look like.
Ya know, sometimes people just sell their wheats in a big auction with like 1000 of them. Its just a better way of finding errors. Modern money is a bit rarer for me.
Some of us are getting confused as 2 separate coins with 2 entirely different issues are involved. The OP's coin looks like a die chip occurred on the top of the I in PLURIBUS and it looks like a T. That is on a quarter. Another member posted a Lincoln Cent with a lamination error.
