west africa holed tokens for taxes.

    I don't have my standard catalog with me right now, but i remember seeing a country in west africa that had a series of no-denomination tokens that were thought to be for paying taxes, all had animals. i have look it up every way i can think of and havent found them. anyone know what country to look for?

    French Equatorial Africa (1925-28), now known as Gabon.

    They are in Krause 1901-2000. You don't put enough faith in Google. I typed in "Holed African tokens used for paying taxes" and it popped right up.

    Your question of a few minutes ago was hit #1, and Krause was hit #2, even showing part of the page of the catalog.
