Were S mintmarks made using this method?

    My gallery is acting up, but it can be seen where "D's " are used to create the S mintmark. I have better pictures if needed,Thanks in advance for all replies.

    I’ve never heard of that. There are OMMs (D/S or S/D as examples, but there are others). The mint marks were hand punched into the working dies until 1989. From 1990-1994 they were placed on the master die. After 1994 the mint mark was included on the master design.     No.. Could be a simple die chip on the S.
