Looking back on my own collecting career, buying sprees were generally a bad idea. But if you are happy with the coins and prices paid, who am I to second-guess? Here's hoping you do not follow in my footsteps and you are wiser than I was....Mike
Has the shield been cleaned? http://www.ebay.com/itm/22095870920...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_2284wt_1270
Yes, look at the grime between the lines on the shield and other areas, it's most likely been cleaned.
You are not alone. I did the same thing this past weekend with British proof sets and coins. Went overboard. Even hog-wild, some would say.
I bought 7 OGH mercs off ebay and another source in the past week. Gotta let loose once in a while... got 10 more on my list at HA.com. By the way, yes, that Shield Nick has absolutely been cleaned.
Yes, Detecto. The Shield nickel has been cleaned. Just look into the incuse details and see the stuff the cleaning hasn't gotten.
Well didn't want to make a new thread for it, but I got a nice 1883 no cents V-nick off a friend of mine for $10. Same coin would of been $10, with $2 shipping. So now I have a nice shield, liberty head, buffalo, and Jefferson to make my type set!
