Recently I got permission to hunt a field in Oregon City dating back to the Oregon Territory. I was excited to think about what was under the ground! I drove over to Oregon City and started detecting. About two hours later, I found an old looking jar. I couldn’t see anything inside, but it made sounds when I shook it as if something was inside. Curious about it, I took the jar home. Otherwise, I found a few Lincoln Wheat Cents and even a Mercury Dime, so it was a pretty good hunt. Later, I went home and tried to open the jar from earlier. It wouldn’t open, so I took a hammer and broke it. To my surprise, weird gold coins started pouring out of the jar. I don’t have pictures but they look like this: I counted them up and there were 476 of them, plus 58 $10 pieces. I looked in the Red Book and apparently these are worth thousands of dollars each. What should I do with these? Send them to PCGS and disperse them into the market slowly? Anyway, happy Easter, everyone!
