I bought some platinum and then proceeded to go to my local Wells Fargo for a cashier's check. I have a five figure balance there. These clowns charge me $10 for the check and then proceed to do a CTR on me. The transaction was not over the limit. They treated me like a drug dealer!
Moral of the story is don't do business with a Too Big To Fail Bank. Wells Fargo is an enormous CF of First Union-Wachovia-Norwest-original Wells Fargo. Nothing good about that.
This is why I keep my "metal" cash in a safety deposit box. I don't want to "explain" anything to anybody when I have a large transaction. Everybody I deal with expect cash for all transactions. I do have to keep it below 10k with my local coin shop for the same reasons. They will make several buys or sales on the same day just not at the same time.
