Your appreciation for antiquity is a gift. Most people were not blessed with it. I see plenty of blank and unimpressed expressions from folks when I talk about collecting ancient coins. It’s okay. This hobby doesn’t work for everybody. The one out of one hundred who show extreme interest make it worthwhile. One way to gauge true interest in a person is pay attention to the questions they don’t ask—such as “How much is it worth?”

When I talk about coins, I always start with the story behind the coin. It piques and maintains interest.

    John Skelton Morgan man!

And it's the history behind the coin that drives my collection, not necessarily what it's worth. Although what it costs comes into play at times.

Last night I had a dream that I was flying to Africa on a big, wide cargo plane like a C-130. It had been retrofitted into a passenger plane with rows of seats like an airliner, though.

The weird thing was that in the front row, one of the seats was an actual barber's chair, with red upholstery and the footrests and swivel base and all, and there was a person sitting in it getting a haircut from someone else. When the plane took off, all the hair on the floor started sliding down the aisle towards the back.

Who knows what that one means. That just goes to show you the kind of randomly bizarre dreams I have.

    Not currently, and no.

Have been on a plane flying (from, not to) Africa, but it was a regular airliner... without barber chairs.
