Here's where I differ from you and @micbraun. I keep almost ALL my Jeffs in a Dansco. IF I were a toning fan, I'd just let them sit in there and cook, and SOME might get looking like his pictures. But I don't. I use the Dansco Slip Cover. It says on there: "Dansco Archival Quality Slipcase" "with Silver-Guard Corrosion Inhibiting protection" You see? I don't WANT any toning. And the day this hobby decides that MY coins are worth less because I went out of my way to prevent toning that somebody else let happen, is the day this whole hobby can go straight to Hades. So you might ask, "Are you saying the love of toned coins is risking ruining the hobby?" Yes. I. Am.
And I keep mine in an Intercept Shield album, because I don't want them to tone any further. I'm a going to work on my collection view for my Dansco, but in the mean time, I'm gonna throw my toned registry set up at you just because I know you will hate it!
You could have stopped at "registry set". I hate it for that alone. Worst idea ever. Now I know why we'll NEVER get along. You're one of those Registry Set creeps.
Bah, I think we get along swimmingly, we just don't agree on some stuff. But we both like Jefferson Nickels and that's enough for me.
My real top concentration is 38-41 Jeffs. 39 most of all. I ran overtime on an ANA Money Talk that was ONLY on 1939 nickels.
I can't make out the date. 1939? Mannn, don't you dare say 1964! Ever see anyone perfectly superimpose a 1939 Reverse of 38 and a Reverse of 40 right over each other in Photoshop? Then "slider" one to the other? Wacky!
Nice "of 38" too! My one need is to invest in a better '39 DDR. The one I have now is not equal to the set.
You absolutely certain about that first one? Does the TPGS say so? All of my Ro40 coins have way more step than that.
Oh, Borgata chip, eh? You must know my first wife. /chuckle Suffice it to say she has dropped serious dollah there. When she and my kid went to England for 3 months, I got her mail. Wowsers! I think there must be suite with her name on it. What can I say? Greek girls. Addicted to cigs at 9, gambling at 12.
Let me see what I have taken away from all this. “Do what you enjoy.” This coin is cheap. It is common. It is pretty. I like it. Kurt won’t want it; others might. I’m OK with all that. As for the rest of eternity, I’ll try to preserve the coins I temporarily hold. That’s a responsibility I accept. But, really, I just want to enjoy this simple thing in my own way.
