What did he do to get banned besides creating a second account?

 

If somebody joins Coin Talk, he or she can pick an ID, but it is always the person who joins, not some ID/username. If the account of Joe Smith, username "JoeS", is closed, that is because Joe Smith did something that violates our rules. If the very same Joe Smith could then continue being a member by simply creating a new account with the username "JoeSm", well, that would defeat the purpose ...

So just as you or I cannot have two different (active) Coin Talk IDs, we cannot have a new one merely because the old account got closed. I'm not saying it is technically impossible, but if we find out about such a case - see above.
