What causes this higher surface? 20200213_171958.jpg 20200213_170913.jpg 20200213_170829.jpg

Occluded gas bubbles maybe? I don’t know for sure. I don’t think it is grease, but it could be. Let’s see what other people have to say.

A Struck Through Debris / Grease coin usually has missing design features.
I think the high area on your coin was caused by an excessively-cleaned die, note how Abe is all but missing. A high point on a coin is a low point on a die.

Lincoln's profile does look higher. Why?.. No idea. The rev. might be Progressive Indirect Design Transfer, a die clash or ghosting. Something like this...maybe.

Makes sense, high point coin, low point die, that might work, thanks

What caused your penny to be in that condition?

Thanks!!! I saved the link. That's it, it's the impression of Lincoln's shoulder from the opposite side, it lines up perfectly.

So I was tired last night, if it's not an impression of Lincoln what is it?
