Last time I had an EKG I asked my doctor to write me a note to present to my wife confirming that I do in fact have a heart.

That's the way it is with everything, basically. I know a guy who crashed a $20K remote control jet one weekend. A bunch of us who also fly radio control jets were over at his house a month or so after the crash for a bbq. At some time during the "Q" someone mentioned the crash and was talking about how much in loss there was. The wife overheard it and came over and said "it was only about $300.00 in loss". LOL, someone "corrected" her on the cost and later on that same day she "corrected" her husband. Needless to say, he was pretty sore and reprimanded everyone for disclosing the actual cost while on his property. Not a big deal though, he was only throwing the "Q" so he could get a bunch of us over at his place so he could try and sell us a bunch of various used r/c junk aircraft and components at way over the top prices.

I did something similar once! I used to work at the GE MRI coil manufacturing facility in Aurora, OH as a tech in the engineering department, where I built and tested working prototypes of MRI equipment. One day I was asked if I wanted to be a guinea pig for a prototype brain coil since my head is rather large. I consented, and asked for a copy of the image, took it home and proved to my wife that I do in fact have a brain....

I was recently diagnosed from an MRI as having a lesion on the left side of my brain. At the neurosurgeons my wife saw the films. Now I'm with Randy Abercrombie above in that my wife can't say I don't have a brain anymore. Now she says she always knew my brain was damaged. Can't win.

    Too funny.
This man has clearly been through the ringer a few times like most of us :)
But can you imagine our collections if our spouse was onboard and a collector too lol.
It's probably a good thing for us coin addicts to face a little opposition from our significant others every now and then:)

    Vertigo Did someone say bust?

I don't tell her what I paid until I sold it and I can say I paid 200 for it and I sold it for 400! Then she don't care!

EVERY COLLECTOR'S worst nightmare is to die and then watch his widow sell his hard-won treasures for 10% more than he told her that he paid for them.

I keep a record of all my coins, sets, etc. and their cost on my computer. I keep a print out in a file. One day my wife brought me some print-outs that she had found in my trash can. It had the cost of each coin and the total amount that I had paid for each piece or set. My wife doesn't understand anything about the coins, but she did understand the total at the bottom of the worksheet. I won't tell you how much I have spent, but she knew how to read my worksheet. I was out of commission for over a year.
Be careful what you write on your computer. Once you have been found out, they are smart enough to get into you computer. I also was stupid enough to leave my book with all of my user IDs and passwords.
Our wives and husbands will get in your computer somehow and then you might need a divorce lawyer.
