I BELIEVE YOU'LL FIND THAT CT WONT GET INVOLVED! A seller in this venue sold me a coin for close to a grand in this venue which was never received, nor the promised refund of approximately 8 months past. It's believed he asked for the auction to be closed before we finalized the sale, but when I asked for the time of the closure request from site management, I was told the buyer-seller efforts were a matter in which CT would not get involved. I believe the site denial was a reasonable response without a subpeona, and to not expect involvement without a judicial action. As a sidebar to the essence of this thread, I believe it can be readily established that eBay has proven they place little importance upon the source of images, as they currently grossly allow sellers to list auctions of TPG graded coins with an image having a serial number, while multiples of the coin are sold. I also won a very scarce graded double eagle on their site, paid for the coin, and then noticed that the seller, a non-resident of the U.S. who had written a book on the subject, had "borrowed" the image from a past auction, and was selling the coin a 2nd time. Upon reporting the incidents, eBay deleted all evidence that either auction had ever existed. I never received a response or a refund. It's believed that eBay learned well from PayPals past nefarious actions, and the class lawsuit which never saw a jury, by "buying" the plaintiffs attorneys, still not finalized more than a decade later. Without federal legislation and oversight, it's believed these firms know and have virtual impunity. OP, as a seller of the imaged coin, I don't know that eBay will even allow submission of negative feedback for your perceived injustice? I believe you'll find that upon the buyer initiating payment for the coin, and possibly without a copyright separate ownership auction statement he may immediately sell his property. I recently purchased, by mutual agreement, a portion of a 7-8 dollar figure of coins listed on this site, which were resold by the seller while funds were in transit. Trust and $1 may get you a cup of coffee, but seldom, little more. JMHO
