No this is a legitimate warning as I have explained above.

I did not use the term "disputed transaction". It's about the buyer and the seller. They need to work it out!! Paddy disputes the use of Justin's images. read both of their posts. It's between them, no matter what the issue is.

    1. There is nothing to work out. The images are his property and they were used without authorization. There is no discussion when someone tells you to remove their images that you did not have the rights to use. You take them down immediately or it is a form of theft at that point period.

    2. Paddy has nothing to do with this, actually read the thread.

    3. Warnings about shady sellers are common and should happen. People staying quiet is how countless people end up getting ripped off like a certain dealer who hadn't been paying his consignors for the last two years but kept getting material because people stayed quiet for so long as one example.

To be fair, when I first read paddy's post I thought he was responding as the guilty party. Oops. My opinion of him is now favorable again, lol

I realize my comments had little to do with the OP transaction in question. But I have an axe to grind with edynamicmarketing, and I dont know why i chose this thread to spew it out. I apologize for none of it.

And @jtlee321, you might want to start adding your pictures as an "included with" with your coin sales. They are a huge selling point, and I know if I buy a coin that has great pictures, I usually at least save them on my computer.

A dip could probably save at least some of them.

I've done that a few times. Mostly for the more expensive items I sell. :)

Careful with this...independent photographers own the copyright to their photographs, even if they were paid to take them. Generally coin photographers give permission for the consigner to use the photographs however they want, but this is just an informal and temporary license which can be revoked.

That said anyone who charges for photographs but won't allow the customer to use them will find their business dry up very quickly. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it and it seems reasonable enough to use something you paid for, of course if they request you take it down just take it down and find someone else.

If someone really wants to be safe though they could always request written permission for their use in anyway before paying for the service.

Oh I am aware of this. I consider the service I provide as dual ownership. I can use the images to advertise my services. At the same time, I respect the privacy of the coin owner and will not go and show off a bunch of coins that I just shot for a client. I know that I can if I so choose to, but I won't, not without discussing it with the client. On the other hand, my clients can share their images and make all the prints they want. The only limitation I might make is for commercial use not in advertising a coin for sale, but to sell the image as a product itself. Now I highly doubt that there are many in this small hobby who will be doing something like this and if they do, they typically will discuss it with me before hand.

    Ugly, garish AT coins.

eBay's Advanced Search Options include the ability to exclude a list of sellers from your search. I was delighted when I finally stumbled upon that option. edynamicmarketing is one of the most frequent guests in my "except for these bozos" form field.

Bottom line is that his "feedback" tells the story. Something to be said for due diligence before dealing with anyone if you are a buyer. Understand the frustration of the OP as a seller. Only comfort is that eventually in the end, time wounds all heels.

Oh, I love that, and somehow have never heard it before.

It's kind of like "don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things". LOL
