Washington State coin damage

    My first thought was "somebody abused this coin." Tbh though, I do not know if this type of damage could have occurred during the minting process. Thoughts anyone as to this being done by someone in circulation versus a problem when minted? Thanks! 20240917_235606.jpg 20240917_235724.jpg I will try for better pics if needed.

    Could it be acid damage? I'm not an expert by any means. Hopefully the experts will tell me if I'm right or wrong.

    Looks like heat damage, IMHO.
