    Looks like machine doubling IMO. You can also see it on the D of DOLLAR.
    Keep up the hunt!

    I agree with non cents but look for these attributes to make sure.

    Stage B:
    Die crack down eagle's Right (viewer's Left) wing – MDS
    Strong die crack across bust – MDS
    Stage C:
    Die crack East from eagle's plume to wing – LMDS
    Obverse die changed – MDS
    Die crack across forehead and upper hair
    Die crack across bust line
    Stage D:
    Die crack down eagle's Right (viewer's Left) wing extends to Q of QUARTER – LDS
    Die crack from forehead West to L of LIBERTY – LDS
