What I see here is a gladiator or chariot racer who was styled in the fashion of his day and resembled the emperor. Some dealer/curator added fame to the item by upgrading the label. I am not a student of this statue so you can prove me wrong by researching. Does the head even belong on that body? That needs research, too. </p><p><br /></p><p>That said, there is a statue of George Washington half dressed as Zeus.
