Warning! Lincoln Cent Collectors

    Absolutely disgusting! I had no idea that were basically faking every wheat cent.

    At least they are poor enough that a seasoned collector will be able to spot them.

    Here's a photo of an Indian that is for sale on eBay. The same seller has quite a few different date Indians and they all look similar to the one pictured here. I checked Teletrade and didn't see a single Indian sold in the last year that looked this clean and red. I've also read about the dimply or "matte" surface effect of fakes. Any opinions on whether this one is genuine?

    For anyone interested, here's a link to his IHC auctions. I don't know enough to make a definitive call about authenticity, but personally, I would steer FAR away from these.

    Great detective work! Has anyone spotted more of these "low value" counterfeits?
