With all due respect, this is ridiculous. The OP made a mistake and according to him the seller shipped as promised. It would be different had he combined the two into one, simply pocketing the second charge, but that's not the case here. Dinging someone for living up to their word is both petty and wrong, especially considering the freebies given to the OP who handled his end with class.
Can you clarify what specific part of this thread is ridiculous? I hope my post didn't come across as trying to fault the company for shipping, as I am the one who mistakenly purchased separately. I just thought they could have been a little more accommodating with the shipping effort. I think those who responded more or less said that the seller had falsely said you cannot combine shipping after purchases and showed that it was possible.
My apologies... what I find ridiculous had absolutely nothing to do with you, and was the post from the other gentleman saying the seller should be dinged for not combining even though he did exactly as he said and you paid for. Obviously sending as he did was little to no benefit to him (it's not like he instead sent in a single package and pocketed the money) and perhaps he didn't realize they could be combined, but it didn't benefit him so he rightfully shouldn't be punished for it. With all the nonsense sellers are forced to shoulder, how can anyone (not you) really blame one for erring on the side of caution? There are so many perfectly reasonable and legitimate examples of where a seller deserves it, but there are just as many and more on this board where people resort to pettiness simply because some tiny nothing didn't go their way.
Truthfully, I agree with this wholeheartedly. That's why I tried to clarify that I wasn't upset about his responses, despite how strange they seemed.
