Hate to disagree here, but your eight months of searching nickels has produced 1.23 ounces of silver. Not that I need anymore competition in the Half Dollar search nor am I bragging by any means because it is not easy. It takes a lot of visits and revisits and visits to 100+ banks a week, but the last four months I've found 153 ounces from Teller trays, CWR and MWR. tThis past weekend my daughter and I rolled my searches of halves since April 22. Here's the results,
    400- 65-70 Kennedys
    260+ 64 Kennedys

If your talking about searching in MWRs then you are probably right, the number of silver halves in Loomis boxes has dropped dramatically. But maybe it's because a silver half carries a big punch in adding to my silver count.

Oh yes, I've seen some of the prices the rotated reverses and other errors bring and it does sometimes inspire me to want to go through them. Out of curiosity, how often do you find something of value in these rolls? I haven't had much luck yet, but then again, I haven't gone through too many of them.

It's not what I would find in the new boxes.

It is the boxes of coins themselves.

Sometimes double face is a very common wholesale price for BU current year coinage.

I went a year between war nickel finds - I don't search by the box but I've probably done a good 10 boxes worth without finding any. During that time I've found 5-6 dateless Buffalos and 1 dated Buff (1923).

    Gotcha.

Well, the particular branch of BofA which seems to only get the new coins is a very difficult one to deal with. They honestly don't seem to like to deal with coins much. I can buy rolls there just fine, but I honestly don't know if they would sell me a box. A couple of the tellers there are helpful, while a couple of them are not. They are very strict and "by the book" there.

I have tried to sell some new rolls of cents, nickels, and dimes on eBay, and without much success. The cost of shipping seems to deter a lot of the bidders. And one time I sold a roll of nickels, and the USPS decided to smash the package!
The above said, if you have any recommendations, I'm all ears. Would love to be able to make some easy money off of new coin rolls!

As for the topic at hand, a couple of more to add to the box today, including a very nice little 42-P!
