Here is another coin from the junk box. Looks like a OMM but war nickels have weird surfaces. This one is a real dog but looks like an S under the D.
To much wear to tell from your image , however go to varietyvista.com and down load the complete list of war nickels varieties for free and keep it handy to look up rpms. There are a lot of rpm the 1943 has like 70 Plus varieties just by itself .
The weird surfaces are due to the silver and manganese substituted for the nickel. I'm seeing just a normal mint mark.
