Waffle

    Is this a mint scrap "waffle coin" or something that happened after it left the mint?

    I do not think that is a waffle produced by the Mint - the pattern is different. And on most of the waffled coins produced by the Mint - one can still see faint traces of the original design.

    Really can't tell by the photo. Is this on both sides?

    It really doesn't match any of the ones I've seen pictures of, either US or foreign.

    That appears to be the imprint left by the jaws of a vice.

    Sorry, not an error. Post-Mint damage.
