    I love magnifying glasses. Yours is beautiful.

    I'd want to know the metal composition if for no other reason than to let my kids know there might be some value when my time as caretaker expires.

    Yep! I think they're pretty cool too!
    My 4th daughter saw it last weekend and really appreciated the quality and craftsmanship!

    So, I took the magnifying glass to my LCS and a small jewelry shop in town, both checked it out and agreed it is silver plate, with the glass ring being base copper, and the handle some sort of pewter or pot metal.

    The LCS had a magnet that would somewhat stick to the base.
