Here's a Crocker Anglo National Bank, name was later changed to Crocker National Bank, in Calfornia but maybe elsewhere. The Crocker National Bank made headlines when Patty Hearst and the Symbionese Liberation Army held up a branch in Carmichael near Sacramento! Here's their coin bank, anyone remember this style? https://symbioneseliberationarmy.weebly.com/crocker-bank-robbery.html
My grandparents gave me this bank when I was a wee lad, probably during the Johnson administration (Lyndon B, not Andrew). I still have it and use it to stash valuable circulation finds.
As a kid I received one just like yours for a present except it was blue. Have no idea what happened to it. Great memory. Thanks for the tread!
That is really cool!! I've had a fascination with Cords since I was a kid and discovered that the designer, Gordan Buerhig, was from my home town, Mason City, IL. I have several friends from there who would die to have a bank like that!!
Here's another bank, it's a cast iron Dough Boy style bank, this style of bank was sold after WWI. Mine is likely a reproduction as a real one would cost more than I wish to pay!
Okay, here's another one, probably from the 1970's as it's definitely a reproduction! It's a copy of a cast iron Hubley Trick Dog Bank which was made and sold in the late 1880's!
Should've wiped it down before taking the photo, man, there's still a lot of dust coming off it. That must be it.
I see you have one as well. I also noticed that you are 16 days away from your 10 year anniversary. I'm looking forward to great coin that you are celebrating with.
And I'm looking forward to receiving it! Want to send me the tracking info, now that it's no longer going to be a surprise?
