Here's another recent pickup, a Shield Sovereign. Such a pretty coin. Wish that the UK mint would go back to making yellow colored Sovereigns and that they would strike a modern version of the shield back every once in a while. I'm sure it would be extremely popular if they ever did it.
I wonder why they haven't revisited the shield back design - they do seem to try different things but besides the 2002 I think, it's mostly been St George and the dragon.
