"Computer graphics or some other medium?" Both are oil paintings. First one on canvas, second on wood panel.
Wow. To have such skill is unthinkable to the likes of me. The first evokes Escher and the second stained glass. Both are remarkable.
BTW I just saw that your other painting of the cars is 6 feet tall. I guess that IS showing Cuban pride btw Neither is this and it cost me $250 from Athena Numismatics. Also by an unknown artist. Not Cuban however. I don't sell things anymore. I usually just buy. I, on rare occasions, barter. You can read into that what you want.........and you would probably be correct. M
Many times a CT thread gets sideways and 'distracted' as has happened here. Back to what Doug was talking about (or at least I think). What is 'original', what is acceptable? No doubt at some point technology will catch up and 100% accurate copies will be able to be made. I mean, right now we have 3D printers which can duplicate anything we wish. And at some point in the future (far I hope) we wont be able to tell the difference unless a coin has a proven provenance. But, what is 'original'? This as many have pointed out has more problems in the general art market than it does with ancient coins. I personally have a Picasso sitting rotting away in an old trunk (I have not taken care of it and it is in bad condition). Why dont I display it? Its a copper plate print, yes, done by Picasso himself but printed much later (one can look up the issue with those if one wishes). It's 'kind of' original. Sort of, but not really. At some future date this will undoubtedly happen with ancient coins (but not soon as too many originals exist and are cheap).
