Speedy, yes there will be Vice-Presidents of America on coins - only those who either succeeded to the Presidency (like Lyndon Johnson & Gerald Ford),or who were later elected President (George Bush,Snr.) though.

I disagree---I guess you could say that Technically there will be Vice Presidents on coins, but when they are on the coin they aren't on there because they were Vice President---and the only reason they will be on the coin is because they were President---not because they were Vice Presidnet---so I would still say that there will not be any Vice Presidents on coins.

Since they didn't start the Vice President coins this year I doubt it happens for a very long time either. But with the US Mint you never know, if they do a survey and collectors want them, we may get them at some point down the road. Or if Congress wants them, they will have to do them.

My guess would be they do the Vice Presidents after the President coins are finished, but who knows. I was surprised they did the First Lady coins, so nothing is out of the ballpark when it comes to coins it seems. In terms of investment value, I think the First Lady coins will become more valuable over the long-term versus the President coins based on mintages on a percentage return basis. The exception may be the release of Silver President coins. At some point I expect the First Lady coins to drop below 10,000 mintages and those could be the ones to buy, also possibly the LIBERTY gold coins.

Speedy, that is true to a point, but they were still Vice-Presidents as well as being Presidents though.I think there is now only one living President who is also a former Vice-President (President George Bush,Snr.,who was Ronald Reagan's Vice-President).

When the U.S. Mints get around to doing President William Taft's coin,it will be a historic piece,as President Taft later became Chief Justice of the U.S.

Here's an article about President Taft; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Howard_Taft .

Then where do we stop Aidan????...do we say that just because Abe Lincoln was a lawyer we now have a Lawyer coin and not just a President Coin.
Or just because Washington was a soldier we have a Soldier Coin....you see we can't pull hairs---the people on the coins are there because they were Presidents---Not because they might have been Vice....not because they might have been the hog killer down the road---if they were those things that it fine and dandy but that isn't something that ties into this coin set IMHO.

Speedy, only the 2 top offices in the U.S. & the First Ladies are worthy of being commemorated in this way.As I did mention in a previous posting,it will educate people (not just those in the U.S.,I must add!) about who the Presidents,Vice-Presidents,& First Ladies were,& in what order they served.
