Where was it cleaned at? Why in the world would a professional coin conservation company dip a coin in acetone? Seriously! Man!

UMMMMMM that's how you remove PVC. Acetone will not harm a coin (if done properly)

Two dealers that come to mind are JJ Teaparty and Rare Coins of New Hampshire. Both specialize in collector coins in this range. You might try giving them a ring or parusing their website from time to time -- and I think both will take your wantlist.

When I was a teenager, I had two 1876 20-cent pieces, and at least one of them would have graded VF. Unfortunately, I had to sell them to pay for tuition/living expenses, but I'm still kicking myself for letting them get away.

Quite the thread resurrection, as I created this thread less than a month after I joined CT.

If anyone was wondering, I never found one... nor am I still looking for one. :p

I bought this piece as a dealer labled raw VG for $260 hoping I would receive a VF20 and it ended up getting a whopping VF30 for that price.
Lucky me. Anyhow, this post is to show you that with some research and grading knowledge that these pieces still exist out there.
You just have to be careful because many of the ones on the lower end will garner DETAILS grades.
Below is a photo of one of my two PCGS VF30 1876 20c pieces.
    Enjoy!
