I joined in 1990 and half of our division was deployed to the gulf for Desert Storm I tried to go, wanted to go, but I was bound for 12 hour duty days doing roving patrols around the garrison in Baumholder Germany. The troops returned and everything got back to normal. Left active duty in 1994, but stayed in the Army reserves until late 2000. Soon after my reserve unit deployed to Afghanistan.
