CheetahCats, Thank you. I've been re-reading and enjoying some of your posts from last spring, about foreign coins that circulated here. Keep up the good work!
Wow! These two beautiful pieces really tell a story. I'm not sure my eyes are good enough and I know my pocket book isn't big enough to pick out 9 different die states. Amazing that someone has done that. Great seeing you at C4 as well. And thanks for the nice 5-74A that you sold me. I showed it to an old friend at C4 and his comment was that he thought the NET grade ought to be HIGHER than the technical grade (i.e., great eye appeal). Regards
Very nice example Eduard. I agree with you ARGuy on the 5-74A. It really does have nice appeal. I am always happy to get Machins Mills products that look like that!
Rinaldo got me started looking for RR3's that are mis-attributed as RR2's. Never found one that way, but I'm sure they exist. I did once buy online a cheap RR2 after looking at a bad picture that made me think it might be an RR3. It wasn't, but worth the gamble. I'm fascinated by the RR3's with oversized/extra-metal planchets. It seems to occur on RR3's more than on the other landscapes. One thing I don't like about my recent one is that it's on a regular-sized (as regular as Vermonts get) planchet. The lower-grade one, above, however, is on an oversized planchet. Regarding winter and inside activities...The last time I was up your way, I set the weather app on my Droid to track your weather and it's still set to do so. I've been amazed at how closely temperatures here and there track. We are warm today, but by tomorrow afternoon, we'll be at 45 deg -- same as you. That's cool in several ways. Of course you'll get more snow and we'll have more 100 deg days next summer, but, in between, it's pretty much the same. Hope you, Nerarities, CheetahCats, Eduard, Catbert and evrybody else out there has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
