Bought this at the coin show last weekend. The coin flip attributed it to Ranieri Zeno, 1253-60. However, I have seen coins of this Doge and they do NOT match the legends here. The coin is worn and pretty heavily clipped.

The legend for Ranieri Zeno should read "RA CENO" and examples online clearly do read so. Here, however, it looks more like ?ASV ?D or ?ASY ?O The right side does clearly read SM Veneti.

Any thought and comments are welcome, including clues as to the "real" Doge.

Sorry, I've got no clue ... ummm, but I like it (I hope that it busts the tape and proves to be a total winner)

I found a couple of sites for Venetian coins, but they were either not all-inclusive or didn't have clear enough photos to match up mine. I'm pretty sure I have ruled out the Doge listed by the seller because it is rather common and I found clear photos of the "RA CENO" which is clearly NOT what mine says.
