Another release on Nov.13th $195. I'll try again 1st was Vault 7 at $395 got a 1857 Flying eagle AU 53 Books about equal. Second try was fun box $195 got a 1900 s Morgan "purple core" MS 62 buy back was $425 but list now closer to $800. So, I'll dip my feet in on the low budget lottery
I hate the terms these people use... "Purple Core Hits" "Holo Core VaultBox x Eighth Era Medals" Sounds like something from the youtube videos my kid watches.
Id be thrilled with that Morgan. They're allowing a household limit of 3. I almost pulled the trigger last time. The instant buy back is nice. Could always sell one or two back if you didn't want them to make up for a third if you got a winner that you wanted.
Best of luck. I looked at it but did not participate. In July these were $165 now they're $200. There were many things I wanted a chance at but so many more I didn't want to pay $200 for. Looked like there's about 3k coins in this batch going out. They sold out quick again.
did the revel today and I'll be 2- purple cores 1@$480 and 1@ $280 buy back I share pictures later tonight
Both nice hits. That's a common date IHC at 49.8 million mintage, but very nice MS condition. NGC has only graded 335 of them higher than that. NGC price guide lists it at 575. At auction they've been selling for around 4 to 500. 480 buy back is actually pretty fair. Congrats.
I think these things are a low-key scam. Basically a 2/3 chance to get less value than you paid for, for 1/3 chance to get more? Might as well go place bets on craps & reinvest any winnings into coins of your preference.
They are the ones making the money. I’ll put my money into a coin that I can see before buying one that I can not.
I can't call it a "scam". They're 100% up-front about what's going into the mix, and what your odds are. I will call it a distasteful gimmick offered by NGC. But perhaps I repeat myself.
I was so so disapointed to miss out on this one... I had even budgeted for 3 but I had to be out for an appointment before sales opened and they were sold out by the time I got home and logged into the site... In the end that's ok as since I had my entire budget availble including the extra set aside for the funboxes I didn't get I scored a new 1900 $5 gold piece..
Sounds like you need to invest in a smart phone before this. lol I nabbed a gold flowing hair off the mint website from my phone. Many of my acquisitions wouldn't be possible without it. I've been on the website for vaultbox out in the middle of nowhere for several releases but just haven't been able to go through with it. Afraid of the odds on them.
And like craps, you always hear about how much someone won and almost never about how much they lost. People who crapped out on FunBox - post your results.
FYI, Sent in my Indian cent from last offering for the $480.00 buyback. Sent out Monday priority w/ insurance and 4 days they just pay-paled me Thurs. night . Pretty reputable service! This will soften my newest addition. Always wanted to 3-coin gold set
